The crazy overclockers over at NordicHardware have set a bundle of new world records in 3DMark using the new X1900XTX card from ATI. The Canadian boys in red have been working with the Norwegians to push the limits of what can be done with a single card.

So, take a FX60 processor, a DFI motherboard and ample buckets of LN2 - Liquid Nitrogen. Add some Norwegian special sauce, and you get a single card 3DMark 05 of 16,004 points - a world record for a single card setup.

Using the new 3DMark 06, the boys also set a single card world record in that, too. Instead of the FX60, they used a 955 Extreme Edition Intel processor, showing that Intel's latest high end chips can stand up to AMD competition in some cases.

The Nordic guys are planning a CrossFire marathon this weekend, and we wouldn't be against CrossFire holding the new world record in 06 and 05 by the end of the weekend.

Are you a nitrogen cooling freak? A 3DMark champ? Or is this really overclocking with no point other than for egotistic gratification? Let us know your thoughts over in the forums.
